I visited Leighton Moss last week it was a fine sunny day but the birds were few an far between,at the Eric Morecambe hide a couple of kingfisher were seen at distance, while lapwing, black tailed godwits and 1 greenshank were on the pools. The public hide was busy with people but the few birds showing were all at distance, marsh harrier, water rail, pochard, and a few coots.I kept myself entertained trying to capture images of the migrant hawker dragonfly as it flew past the hide.I've posted a few of my efforts below.

PAINTED LADY BUTTERFLY.
After my last post saying butterflies were few and far between this year the last butterfly I expected to see was a Painted Lady.I couldn't believe my eyes when returning home on sunday afternoon there was a Painted Lady in the garden feeding on tall verbena. I managed to capture a few images and have posted a few of my better efforts below.

Hoverflies,Butterflies and Bee's.
I'ts been a very poor year for butterflies in this part of the country and its only recently that one or two have appeared in the garden. I managed a couple of hours one afternoon with the camera in the garden and have posted a few of my efforts below.
