NEWTON MARSH ON ICE.

Most of the water was frozen leaving just a small area at the entrance pool ice free for the ducks to concentrate, perfect for me to capture a few images with the camera.A great tick for me was the pintail a first for me on the marsh in over six years of visits.

A STEEP LEARNING CURVE.

Last week I went on a macro and flash photography course run by Roy Rimmer and Mike Hudson, the course was run in a relaxed and easy to understand way with settings and technique explained simply.I can highly recommend this workshop for anybody wanting to improve their photography.I`ve posted a few images  below from my day on the workshop, and hope to be able to take what I`ve learnt out into the field and photograph the nature and wildlife of Lancashire.

FAVOURITE PHOTOS OF 2014 PART TWO.

A few more of my favourite images of 2014.The Deer and Pied Flycatcher were taken in the Bowland Hills a very special place for me,the Swallow for letting me share a few  precious moments with it while feeding it`s young, the Yellow Wagtail because it`s such a rare bird in Lancashire and a privilegeto be able to photograph it,the Common Blue butterfly is wrongly named for me how can you dismiss it as common with such beauty, the Goldfinch and Jay images because they show the potential of my new project on the allotment, while the Cormorant roost on the Ribble for the composition.

FAVOURITE PHOTO`S OF 2014.

A few of my favourite photo`s of 2014,not just because of the images themselves but the challenges they presented along with the frustration, excitement and enjoyment. It`s been a pleasure to travel the countryside of Lancashire from the coast to the Trough Of Bowland  capturing images like these and the memories will last a very long time.I look foward to the challenges of 2015 with excitment.
